The Bachelor in Science degree prepares exceptional education teachers to work in programs serving K-12 students with exceptionalities. Our graduates are eligible to apply for a professional Florida Teacher Certificate in the area of Exceptional Education.

Education Common Program Prerequisites - required for admissions
Admission Requirements
- Complete the University General Education Requirements or its equivalent, i.e., an A.A. degree from an approved Florida community college or state university.
- Have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA.
- Pass all four parts of the General Knowledge Test and/or CLAST examination (no alternative or waivers are accepted).
- Complete common program prerequisite courses.

The Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) State Programs, within the Florida Department of Education, administers a variety of postsecondary educational state-funded grants and scholarships, and provides information to students, parents, and high school and postsecondary professionals. Requirements
Admission to the College will be granted when students meet the following College of Education restricted access admission requirements:
- Completion of the University General Education requirements or its equivalent,
(e.g. an AA degree from an approved Florida Community College or state university)
- Complete the Education Common Program Prerequisites.
- Complete the Foreign Language Admission requirement.
- Complete the Gordon Rule requirement.
- Have an overall 2.5 or above GPA. (2.75 for Early Childhood Education)
- Successful completion of all four parts of the General Knowledge Test (GKT).

*NOTE: The above requirements are reflected on the student's SASS degree audit.
Students who do not meet the College of Education admission requirements will be restricted from taking upper level (3000/4000) courses in the College of Education, and remain in Education Pending status.
