The mission of the Exceptional Student Education Program is to become a premier undergraduate and graduate program that prepares educators, researchers and scholars as leaders and advocates for persons with disabilities and their families.

In the quest for social justice and educational excellence, we will provide opportunities to engage in learning experiences which focus on research, technology, leadership, pedagogical content knowledge, differentiated instruction, evidence-based practices, equity and access through collaboration with local, state, national and international partners to meet the needs of all individuals and their families.

Special Education is instruction individually designed to meet the needs of children with disabilities and children who are gifted.
