Marriage and Family Therapy
Graduate Certificate
Department of Child, Family and Community Sciences
The graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy is designed to provide additional training for counselors and therapists working with families, couples, and children. The program is composed of five graduate courses addressing family systems, working with couples and family therapy theory, and counseling techniques. Course work can be taken either in the College of Education or in the School of Social Work.
For many counselors, this certificate will fulfill the requirements for Florida Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Applicants should contact the State Licensure Board to verify the courses they need.
For information about admissions and course requirements, please see the Marriage and Family Therapy Certificate Program Description on the Office of Graduate Studies website.
